i-Mag writer Kimberly Pauig named as AirAsia Travel Photographer 2016

Out of over five hundred participants, our very own Kimberly Pauig emerged as this year’s AirAsia Travel Photographer, who went through a series of challenges along with five other finalists held in Macau, China.


Six young and aspiring photographers, namely, Neil Michael Cardano, a Hotel Front Desk Officer from Puerto Princesa, Palawan; Daniel Magbanua, a Fashion Photography student from Quezon City; Mithilaya Miclat, a Nutritionist-Dietician and Social Entrepreneur from Davao City; Kimberly Pauig, a writer from Pasig City; Dave Poblete, a BPO employee from Makati City; and Eliseo Zuniga, a lawyer from Taguig City, exhibited their talents in photographing architecture, culture, food, landscape, moving subject, and portrait in Macau’s cultural attractions.
As the competition progressed, the three chosen finalists, Daniel Magbanua, Kimberly Pauig, and Dave Poblete, presented their photographs to the judges and media. The panel of judges included Nachi Ugarte, creative director of GRID magazine; Jacob Maentz, documentary photographer; and Wawi Navarrosa, artist/photographer, founder of Thousandfold.


Kimberly Pauig got the judges’ nods to bag the title and receive 200,000 AirAsia BIG points convertible to local and international flights, surprise vacation package for two and other exciting prizes form GRID magazine and Flight 001. Dave Poblete came in second and awarded as People’s Choice for garnering highest online votes, while Daniel Magbanua placed third.
